Why do They Hate Hillary Clinton so Much?
For some reason, right-wingers has hot flashes when they think of Hillary Clinton. Hitlery, Hilldabeast, and so forth, are examples of the white-hot hatred that she provokes from the right. I don't understand.
She attracts more hate than other liberals, such as Ted Kennedy. She attracts more hate than other women in politics. For some reason, she's just a flash point for the hard right.
I even asked LJ at Look Both Ways why she attracts so much vitriol, and his response was
"Liberals are picking up on this Hillary talk and trying to create an anti-hillary sentiment like the anti-bush crowd was blasted for. It won't work. We are anti-hillary but it's mostly for the reasons listed below. In other words, "we hate her because we hate her, but don't say that we hate her."
She is hated mostly because she personifies liberalism. Yes it's her policies. It's her name. It's her stupid smirks and her pride. Her carpetbagger ways and her socialist tendencies. Oh and also her husband. It's the families insistence that they are always right, even when they are wrong. (reminds me of a quote from Scarface,"I always tell the truth, even when I lie.")
Too bad for democrats they elected the wrong clinton to the white house because I don't think this country can take two of them."
Sometimes the right wing is simply odd. I think their hatred of Senator Clinton is bizarre and over the top.
169 Comments:
Hillary's attempted restructuring of the health care industry was a joke. Intentional or not, that "policy" personifies everything bad about "liberalism," to the cons of the world.
Hillary is also perceived as part and parcel of Bill's ethically challenged world view. Two examples should not be forgotten: (1) Where were those Rose Law Firm files, before they mysteriously were found in the White House?; and (2) how did she turn a few thousand bucks into six figures in the futures market? (Yeah, I know, George II's favoritism was much, much worse -- but I'm writing about Hillary now.) There are other examples that come to mind as I type this: a lot of people blame her for accommodating, or enabling, Bill's sexual peccadillos; the whole Foster suicide; TravelGate ....
I resent the carpet bagging. She was born and raised in Chicago, then Harvard, then Arkansas (!), then D.C., and now New York. What, exactly, does she represent?
Last, she is very smart, capable, and intelligent. She also knows it. By wearing her ego so closely to the surface, she pisses a lot of people off.
Personally, I do truly think she is very smart, capable, and intelligent. But she's a poster-child for right-wing hatred. Putting her on the ticket in 2008 would be a monstrous mistake.
b.
I agree. A few parts of his response that I wanted to comment on.
"Liberals are picking up on this Hillary talk and trying to create an anti-hillary sentiment like the anti-bush crowd was blasted for."
The anti-Hillary sentiment of the right preceeds any anti-Bush sentiment. Most partisan Republicans hated Hillary before most Dems even knew much of anything about George Bush. In otherwords, liberals are "trying to create" anything. We don't need to. As for the anti-Bush crowd, I'm the first to admit that there are a few people out there who irrationally hate Bush however I think the vast majority of us so-called Bush-haters have very rational and thought out reasons for disliking the man. I know you outlined some of your reasons as did I here on blog. I think that both of these arguments (and others I've read) surpass the "I just hate her" reponse you got to your question.
I do think Hillary Clinton would be a horrible candidate for the White House in 2008 (I'm not yet convinced that there will definately be an eleciton in 2008), not because she would be incapable but because she has been so demonized by the far right that she would have a difficult time. The first female to take the presidency is gonna have a rough time going against the GOP even with a clean slate, and I find there to be little chance Hillary could win.

Isn't hate also a rather common reaction to things you're not familiar with, don't understand and think may be threatening your view of the world? I'm not saying that understanding will always lead to agreement, but it usually disables hate.
And I'm not sure why being smart and not being shy about it should be perceived as such an offence, considering that's how most male presidents of the US have behaved.

Why the right doesn't like Hillary:
1. She is nakedly and unabashedly ambitious.
She seems willing to do virtually anything to get ahead. For ex. sticking with Bill because it enhanced her chances for higher office even though she appeared to have little affection for him. Moving to NY to become a Senator. Losing/hiding/finding Rose Law Firm files. The list could be far longer, but you've heard it before.
2. She does not appear to have a world view grounded in a particular philosophy or moral system other than expediency.
3. She is bright and capable which is particularly dangerous when combined with 1 and 2 above.
She isn't loathed because she is a woman or a Clinton. She is loathed because she is perceived as amoral, Machiavellian, and dangerous for America.
"I think their hatred of Senator Clinton is bizarre and over the top."
Which is exactly what we conservatives say about the left's hate of Pres. Bush.
Brian - I guess I won't send you the Hillary '08 t-shirt I bought in your size.
Anonymous - I have to argue that the hatred of Hillary exceeds what I've seen of the hatred of Bush - though I'll admit that my beliefs likely filter what I see. Most of what the right-wing whined about as Bush-hating was the fact that most of the left wanted anybody but Bush. From the ferocity and obsessiveness shown toward Ms. Clinton by the major rightwing media, such as Hannity and Limbaugh, you get the idea they wouldn't piss on her if she were on fire.
Dan said, "you get the idea they wouldn't piss on her if she were on fire."
I think you're wrong about that one. I think you would hear Hillary screech, "I'm melting, I'm melting . . . . " and then the flying monkeys would be set free.
Wow, a quote of mine singled out by Dan, I have made the big time.
There are some great posts here. I particularly like the last one on the flying monkeys. I always love a good Wizard of Oz reference.
Let me just add one thing since I don't want to get dragged into a shouting match.
I don't think the hatred of hillary precedes the hatred of Bush. How could it? She was only slightly annoying while she was in the white house but anything she did was completely innocuous. Everyone knew she was behind the scenes in many ways but there was no chance her health care plan and other things she did would be taken seriously and she became more of a joke than a threat when she "stood by her man" and lobbed "conspiracy theories" on national tv. She is not only the face of liberalism, she is the face of vacillating liberalism. (Oh wait, is that an oxymoron?) Maybe it's just her policies but I have a feeling those would change about as fast as Kerry's did if she knew it would get her more votes. I will give her one thing. She never spoke out against the war in Iraq as far as I can remember (although I could be wrong about that.)
I can't decide if I want to hate her or just laugh at her. I think I'll take my time in deciding. Until then I might do both. (Of course, I'm joking. I don't literally hate her, it's just fun to poke fun at her.)
LJ:
"Vacillating liberal" is not an oxymoron, it is a redundancy from the department of redundancy department. It is similar to "liberal conspiracy theorist." An example of an oxymoron is the phrase "clear-thinking liberal."
Mr. Baum - who would like to help set the flying monkeys free
I think Hillary is a completely
arrogant and hypocritical person.
I cant get anyone Ive asked to
mention one thing she has done
for the state of NY either. Think
about it. What has she done thats
worthy of all this attention except to enable Bill to pull off
his stupid demeaning antics. Why oh why would anyone for women want
her as the 1st female president?
Well, Carol, you're entitled to your opinion, though it's not a particularly insightful one. I have met her, and she did not strike me as arrogant. I'm not sure what you mean by her hyptocritical nature - I'd be interested in hearing your specifics.
As for what she's done for NY, she got millions for the High Line project, millions for Western NY highways, and she's obviously served her constituents well enough her approval ratings are around 65%. If you're interested, check out her page of announcements - http://clinton.senate.gov/news/statements/index.cfm.
Personally, I'm impressed with her accomplishments, given that Lott greeted her election with a vow to "remind her" that she's only one of a hundred senators. She's done quite a bit, actually.
Gee Dan it's really an honor to have someone here that "met" Hill. Now if your done bragging about yourself lets hear from you on specifics. She? got millions for highways in western New York? Too Funny. Maybe she's planning a quick escape back to where she came. It's almost automatic that all states get money for highways. Just need an inspection report that says so. Why don't you be more specific and let us all know WHAT has actually Hill. done? besides milk New York. Oh and by the way their dog was hit by a car after attempting to escape from being left alone all the time in chapp.
Thanks, Anonymous, for posting exactly the type of frothing, know-nothing hatred that typifies the Hillary-bashers.
I want you to go to your room now, read what has been written, by both the pro-Hillary people in this thread, and the anti-Hillary. Pay particular attention to the anti-Hillary, and how they make their arguments and focus on the issues. Notice how they are intelligent and well-informed, and don't veer off into mentally unhealthy speculation about a dog's state of mind. Concentrate, anonymous, and think hard about what motivates you. Think about why you are so angry, and why you expect other people to do your research for you.
After you do this thinking, you're probably going to feel a little sheepish about what a jackass you've been. That's okay - that's part of the growing process.
When you've grown up and reached intellectual maturity, feel free to come back here and talk at the big people's table.
Run along now.
SHUT UP BILL, JUST SHUT THE HELL UP
i just read about hillary bashing the bush admin for cheeny 'hiding info'. how soon everyone forgets.
Soon after Clinton lawyer Vince Foster committed suicide under mysterious circumstances, his office was cleared out. Along with his office went the Whitewater billing records and several key pieces of evidence. Evidence suggests that Clinton associate Bernard Nussbaum purposely delayed access to the office to investigators. Not to mention the mysterious suicide in which there is some hint that evidence was tampered with. Witnesses have testified they saw Clinton aides clearing the supposedly sealed office.
I wonder where those whitewater billing records came from.
Years after they had disappeared from Vince fosters office, subpoenaed Whitewater billing records appeared in the White House. In January of 1996 an aide stumbled across them sitting on a table in the White House. They couldn't have been sitting their all these years unnoticed. Hillary's finger prints were on them.
Being a New Yorker, I can not stand Hillary because, she came in, said, "I'm taking over now!" and most New Yorkers (not me) actually fell for it! She is not a senator! She just did it to get away from her snotty, power-hungry husband! (whom I also could not stand, not that I can stand this president either). She also voted to send troops to Iraq. Aside from asking Bush where the WMDs are, we should be asking her too!
What do she really stand for other than her "EGO"
What does any politician stand for, anonymous? She's tried to use her position to help the less fortunate, to retain some civil liberties in an era where the "fright on the right" would surrender them, and she's one of the most popular senators in the nation.
Bush is hated because he has a proven record of stupidity. H. Clinton is hated by the GOP because they are afraid of strong and smart women.
I'm so sick of reading bashes and getting joke emails about Hillary Clinton being a man, calling her evil names, etc. If NY'ers hate her so damned much then why did they VOTE for her? Am I understanding this correctly? The most talked about state in the union, known for it's "supposed" hospitality, (yeah right) and people coming together for one another, and you guys can't even stop the name calling, and blaming of ONE woman for all the things wrong in your state, and in the country? hahaha! I'm amazed you don't stop and think about all the previous senators you have had who laid the foundation on what turmoil the state of NY apparently seems to be in, or that citizens of your state claim it to be in. Stop whining and start making the changes you want to see. Just bitching about it on a daily basis doesn't do any good... I support any woman who can withstand the scrutiny she has had to go through! A lying cheating husband, for the ENTIRE world to see. Yeah, I'd say she's got balls alright, and she should be damn proud of it!!! Like any MAN would be. Go Hillary!
As intriguing as some of these comments have been, there have only been two or three responses that have give a logical and clear explaination for why she is disliked. Everyone has an opinion, it would be nice if there were facts to support thesee opinions.
Regards,
A
"I support any woman who can withstand the scrutiny she has had to go through! A lying cheating husband, for the ENTIRE world to see. Yeah, I'd say she's got balls alright, and she should be damn proud of it!!! Like any MAN would be. Go Hillary!"
Wow. Good reasoning you feminist moron. Why don't you get back to your cleaning before your husband gets home and has you make him his supper. Let the big MEN talk about politics.
The Republicans, at least the radical right hated Bill because he was a success, something that has eluded the Republicans. And he was a success at doing what the Republicans thought was their streangths. Now the Republicans are terrified that Hillary will not only be a success but a sucsessfull woman. As a fifty year old male, a parent a business owner and a Christian I'm voting for her. Personally I've had it with the whining right.
Hillary personifies all that is politics. She lies, she misrepresents, she slings mud, and she is very very good at it. I hate her not because of her policies, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I hate her not because she knows how to play the game, I respect anyone who can accomplish their goals.
I hate her because she is so plastic, false, and mostly because dumb nuts liberals buy into her rediculous, superficial, insincere rhetoric. She knew about Bill's indiscretions, yet came on t.v., cried and claimed she didn't know. She stole property from the Whitehouse (remember that Donkies?). She instituted a policy wherein people in the Whitehouse were not even allowed to look her in the face. Who does she think she is?
She thinks she's better than you! How completely arrogant. I think you Donkies need to get your heads out of your asses and wake up!
i hate hillary because she is a disgusting, flip flopping, step on others to get to the top, puke bag
I wish her as much badness as is legal to wish a cunt in office
Fine analysis there, anonymous. With logic like that, you'll go far as a Republican.
I used to be dumbfounded by what I saw to be the flawed logic of the so called political right. I thought, perhaps I was just unable to fully comprehend their logic because of a social predisposition (or bias if you like). However, these comments and others like them in the blogosphere have convinced me that my original belief was probably closer to the mark. Namely, that those in the Conservative political sphere are logically inept. It would be very interesting to do a study on any possible correlation between voting pattern and I.Q.
Many conservatives to a liberal ear...
I hate Hillary (Hitlery) because (insert epithet), because (insert unproven allegation), and because she is clever and stealthy enough to cover up (previously mentioned unproven allegation). Furthermore, she must be tremendously deceitful, because I can’t find any evidence to back up what I know!
If I have a social predisposition it is that I believe evidence comes first then decision, not visa versa. If this makes me a liberal then so be it.
Frankly, I think Hillary for prez in 2008 is the Republican party's best and only hope for the White House in the next election. As a life-long moderate Republican, I’m so disgusted with Bush the 2nd, that I’m voting democrat in 2008…unless it Hillary on the ticket. I don’t want to see a Republican in the White House in 2008, but “better the devil you know than the devil you don't.” Hillary is so baldly political and insincere, that few really know what she really stands for…
Is Hillary really that bad?
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members.. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." - Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct. 10, 2002
Now listen to the Dems...And you want to listen carefully, he did ..."not have sexual relations with that woman" and "...it depends on what your definition of 'is' is" compliments of her husband.
Wow, I can't believe all this talk. I am all for a woman prez. Maybe someone who hasn't come along on her husbands coat-tails. Maybe someone strong and independant and has done something other than be a president's wife. Apparently she can get on the ballot by way of name reckogition.
Last anonymous - our most recent president has obliterated any suggestion that a record of success is necessary to be president (heck, you don't even need to be elected . . .). Seriously, I'd stack HRC's qualifications against W's any day of the week.
The simple fact is, she voted FOR the war in Iraq. She now claims that if she were president at the time then she would NOT have done it. This means one of two things: Either she is a spineless coward who is too afraid to do anything and will only follow larger and people with stronger convitions around, or she will say whatever she think will win her the most votes.
Demosthenes -
Think harder about what you've written. I'm sure you can do better than such a false dichotomy. Put some effort in and try again.
I don't hate Hillary. If she ends up with the nomination, I will vote for her. Having said that; she's not my first choice to get the nomination. My main concern with her is that she isn't a committed environmentalist. I think her politics are too facile. While I'm sure she would be a competent president and appoint capable people, it's hard to be inspired by someone who's primary claim to leadership is that she can make the trains run on time. I know after 6 years of the incompetent leadership we've just been through, the ability to be competent might be all we're willing to settle for. But still, I think we can have both competence and progressive direction. Oh by the way, for those who think the so called clinton scandals had the least bit of substance; you're absolutely insane. That was just republican dirty politics as usual and should be ignored by anyone intelligent enough to use a voting machine.
chikaRex
Hillary Clinton needs to die, right now, as well as the rest of her socialist fuck buddys on Capitol Hill
CLINTON IS A SLUT
CLINTON IS A SLUT
CLINTON IS A SLUT
CLINTON IS A SLUT
Hillary Clinton is the scum of the Earth, I would sooner vote for dog shit than her
Next thing you know, the Democratic idiots will be legalizing child porn. I hope she gets voted in, because then the country will see how bad EVERY SINGLE GODDAMNED DEM is and will never vote for one again!
Maybe Dan ought to respond to Anonymous' posting of
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. 10, 2002
rather than posting snide comments. Dan, do you have a response/explanation to the Clinton' statement of 2002 versus her current stance?
I am the guy behind the Hilldabeast website you reference. I wouldn't say that I get "white hot" with anger. I get more scared pale over her socialist views. She is quite scary and I really believe her brand of socialism will damage this great country in way we have never seen.
I know you may say, but what about Bush, blah, blah, blah... Bush may have his problems, but he supports the free market. This is one of the great strengths of our country and economy. Socialism is a proven failure. Take a close look at the horrid medical care the Canadians get and the number of medical professionals that come to the US to work.
For the record, I am not a Republican and do not stand up for the party. I am a man without a party. Both sides suck eggs, but It's the Liberals that frighten me most of all.
Scott - are you one of those free-market zealots, who refuses to acknowledge that a blended economy is the best answer in our world and that libertarianism is just as bad as socialism. In other words, is your use of the word "socialism" simply an inflammatory way of characterizing the changes that most of us would love to see to our health system, or are you really worried that single payer health will somehow be worse than the insuruance companies when it gets here?
Huillary Clinton IS Evita Perone. I think basically she is just a bad human being using lies, half truths and even violence against her opponents. Her relationship with her husband is too strange for words and if she defends his extra marital adventures as a "vast right wing conspiricy" then she has to be the most gullible woman on the planet. We certainly do not need a gullible person in the White House when it comes to dealing with leaders from Iran or North Korea. Woman for President yes! Hillary? NO!!!
Hitlery and Bubba Clinton (aka Clunkton) are the most corrupt and crooked politicians in the world. They are pure slimeballs. Got it? SCUMBAGS of the lowest kind and the track record, documented track record for it. That is why many hate it as much as you would hate evil and wrongdoing and rotten ppl. Thus, its simple to oppose these scumbag clintons and remember: "let lying dogs sleep" and "do not resuscitate" the hitlery rotten clinton.
Micalah
Yours is a good example of the frothing hatred without knowledge or basis I was trying to describe. Thank you. It is for people like you that I hope that we see President Hillary Clinton in '08. She's not at all my favorite candidate, but it would be fun to watch people like you be twitchy of 8 years.
I still don't exactly understand why Republicans in particular have such an intense level of loathing for Sen. Clinton. If you want a lesson in scummy politicos, from "carpet-bagging" to smearing other candidates, from placing actual subliminal messages in campaign advertisements that says "rats" when Al Gore is on the television to the endless diatribes against gays (which, by the way, 20 years from now will look as absurd and horrific as the blatant racism of politicians in earlier years prior).....if you take all of the possible ways a politician can embody "corruption," you will often find yourselves looking at a Republican! Let's be honest here: are all of the alleged scandals - the Rose Law firm, the Foster suicide, etc, even comparable to the ridiculous scandals of the Dubya administration that seem to occur daily? Then why, oh why!, can Republicans support the most corrupt people in the damn universe and then have the audacity to accuse Hilary as being "dangerous" for her ambition and politically-motivated actions? Oh wait, that's right: because she is 1. a woman and 2. aware of her own intelligence and strength. She is to those who despise her for no obviously logical reason the "Lady Macbeth" of the 21st century; the idea of an ambitious woman has always struck male chauvinists as being so unnatural and against the "modest and sweet" nature of the female, that any woman who shows any "male" ambition or awareness of her own strength is so horrifying they can't handle it. The degree to which Hilary is loathed can only be explained by this basic chauvinistic fear, as even the worst of her "wrong-doings" are not any worse (if not better) than most involved in politics.
THIS BITCH IS A BUTCH AND HAS A STINKY PUSSY!!
and how do you know? been there?
Never fear! Thunder thighs is here!!!
Life is a bitch. Don't put one in the White House!!!!
This "hate Hillary" post you're running here has to have drawn in the worst bunch of childish idiots I've come across on the internet - and that's a pretty low standard. No wonder incompetent, corrupt leaders get elected - just look here at the electorate - at who's voting! These are Americans who have been given the voting franchise and yet they evidently can't hook together three grammatically correct, simple sentences. I don't know how else to identify them - they're idiots!! There may or may not be reasons to support Hillery Clinton, but none of the old reliables, the allegations of Arkansas scandals, make even the clumsiest logic. If any of these allegations had held up, Hillary would have been forced out of politics years ago. But despite the fact that her fellow senators of both parties agree that she is one of the hardest working people in congress, your "posters" rant and rave about her like street drunks reeling about and make about as much sense! It's absolutely amazing just how stupid some people can be and apparently not know it - how they can make it to "adulthood" and not have any idea of how bad they appear?(I suspect a lot of the crazy diatribe in your postings is from teenagers and people in their twenties and thirties who suffer from arrested development!!
You might want to turn to something with more potential to enlighten the general debate - a bit more productive than drawing out pathetic, ignorant Americans, who comprise one of the worst poitical rabbles in the world, to a set-up issue like "Hillary Hate" - unless you did it on purpose to expose them for who and what they.

Hillary is a power hungry bitch.
Hillary is a power hungry bitch who like a rabid pitbull is salivating for being president.
Bill had skill. They called him Slick Willie because he could pander, but when you examined his words, he hadn't really said anything.
Hillary's lack of nuance has made it clear, she's bought and paid for, by the far left, and the far left is not the democratic base.
She can't win the general election if she keeps pandering to the far left. But in the 'eat your own' world of secular progressives, she can't win the primary if she appears to be getting close to the aisle.
It's a no win!

Oh, by the way... Check my blog Hillary Hate Site
Would you all feel more comfortable if Clinton played the role of what a woman should play? I kind of find it funny. But I think that a lot of posters on this blog may have a hard time managing there own identities. They feel threatened that a woman could have such power and thus because they see a woman in a "man's" role it gives un-centered people a queer feeling that the world is spinning the wrong way and water is no longer quenching. I have read a lot of muck raking about how there was a scandl and that is why she should not be in office; a little news, most every public figure has a little dirt on their hands.
Oh and the socialist propaganda!!!! my oh my! well we have two maybe three ways to skin this one.
First, the world is shrinking people are having babies that are not going to be needed to work on farms so they will need to move closer to others because they are going to be more likely to find jobs, when people start to come together a little more order is better than having minimal government (which is not so bad if you live out in the country and all you have to do is pay a little to the government to manage public goods and services like the post), but living in the city there is going to be a lot of tension because in the city your neighbors will be three feet to your left and right, not 30+ miles that your red fearing grandpapy grew up on.
Secondly, the mainstream socialism that the majority of leftist politicians would in no way resemble the frankin-socialism of the USSR, we will be able to buy as many loafs of bread we want when we want to eat. If you want to ignore the progression of culture and society please do choose to live on a farm... but it is the socialist propaganda that tolerates farm subsidies. enjoy ;)
I saw this news clip on yahoo today
""If you're a family that is struggling and you don't have health care, you are invisible to this president," the New York senator says in the ad. "If you're a single mom trying to find affordable child care so you can go to work, you're invisible too.
The ad also argued that U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are "invisible" to Bush. "
I am a member of the United States Marines and have been since 1999 I watched live on television the attacks on the twin towers and to reply to her comments i have but one reply
"Bitch are you *^%king crazy ??"
if you need a good laugh had a friend send me a link to this vid on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDImFe_mlqA&NR=1
Thank you for your service. Bush called the casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan a mere "comma" in history - sorry if it hurts to hear it, but Ms. Clinton is precisely correct about Bush's refusal to look at the consequences of his awful, failed policies. I saw the towers fall, too, but that has nothing to do with Iraq - the botched policies in Iraq have cost us the opportunity to pursue the reprehensible people who launched that attack.
Great article! Thanks.
Thanks for interesting article.
when one is genuinely at peace with their ideology or belief system, any outside challenge will not trigger immediate, blind, hatred-filled defensive response, but instead create an opportunity for reexamination, civilized discussion, disagreement, exchange of ideas....life after all is a continuous learning process where we should constantly challenge what we know, our ideologies, our belief systems, all in the pursuit of the truth, as only the truth shall set all of us free....before you demonize a person, do you care how much truth have you seeked before coming to that conclusion? Or is tuth important at all to you? We all can disgaree about many things and there are so many things need to be done in this world, instead of spending that x amount of energy spewing hatred for someone based on something that has nothing to do with the pursuit of truth, let us all spend that x amount of energy into making this world a better place......i feel very very sad, so many people out there, republicans and democrats, conservatives and liberals...would conveniently pick and choose facts and figures....to support their ideologies and belief systems.....so comfortable to stay within their own little boxes....so scared to venture out and reexamine what they hold as truth and expose it to challenges and in the process...GROW.....the world needs to grow....and here in America, people need to grow......i do not know Hillary and i have never met her....but i would bet my life on this....she is not this evil monster....she is just someone with very strong belief and conviction that she can make this world a better place....just like other presidents before her....it just that her ideas on how to go about it maybe different than yours.....has it ever occured to you that that might just be the case?
Excellent website. Good work. Very useful. I will bookmark!
People in NY are just plain stupid to have elected her into her current office, I'm sorry, but it's true. She's a LIAR, she's a thief & she's out for her own political gain & she cares nothing of the average American. I would not vote for her in a million years. It angers me greatly that she's come as far in her campaign as she has. I say "hang it up Hillary, you're finished before you start"
SHE IS EVIL. She will do our country a great dis-service if she is elected. She's NOT qualified, she's NOT truthful & she's out for her own political gain. I SAY NO.
AJ, here's a quick tip - when you're trying to serve as your own sock puppet, you should vary your language more and avoid posting again in the time it takes you to type the second post.
Oh, and you win the award for the least intelligent comment in this thread for the month. Congrats.
My biggest concern is that she is deeply compromised by a foreign intelligence agency. If you have not read "Year of the Rat" or "Betrayed" it's hard to believe the level of connection that she and Bill have with the People's Liberation Army.
The recent round of fundraising scandals, again involving immigrant Chinese, tells me it's still going on.
If elected it maybe the first time we've elected a foreign intelligence assett to the highest office.
Aside from that there is the fact that she is a Socialist and liar.
It is sincerely hoped by a vast segment of the population that this shrieking harridan, this shrill harpy,Hillary R. Clinton, comes down with a terminal case of double tit cancer before she can ever take office and further run this county into the ground.
More frothing hatred from the fringe. Proving Dan's point - they are mad . . .
Yeah to the Marine that hates Hillary...brother I've been in the Army 12 years, been to Iraq, etc. No politician in DC is concerned if you or I die, whatever party they are in. One thing to think about though, how do you feel being ordered to combat by a guy that was hiding out in the National Guard during Vietnam???
WHY do we hate that witch? Are you retarded? HA HA HA HA hahahahahah ... gasp. Have you ever been through a divorce? That lesbian witch "IS" a man's worst nightmare. Yes, she is a total self centered nasty murdering crook and Yes she would sell out America for a dime to Iran for a second term. But to a Liberal she is "THEIR" peoples republic of communsim. And THAT is why we hate that witch/bitch the most.
But, other than the urge to spit in the tolit and pee on her floating photo, we all love her. "What a wonderful place America will be when at long last Hillary and her hedonists bring back Al-Gore utopia to Liberal USA". Pardon me while I turn around and put my big fat hairy ass down over the hole.
I hate Hillary mostly for the haughty look on her face. But I also hate her for everything I read about her in The Final Days: The Last, Desperate Abuses of Power by the Clinton White House by Barbara Olson. The most prideful, arrogant and self aggrandizing humans in the whole USA.
The fact that Bill was cheating on his wide in the Oval office does truly make me want to puke. When I think of how hard my parents and my wifes parents have worked to have a beautiful working marriage and my own 16 years - I truly feel that cheating like that for the whole world to see and laugh at and mock, makes me ill. How utterly embarrassing.
If Hillary wins? Well she'll be in charge of the soldiers and the middle east. Considering the horrible things the Iranians have said about Condoleeza Rice, I shudder to think how these open face liars will react to Hillary.
I am also embarrassed that I worked for the Sylvestre Reyes (D) campaign in 98/99.
I hate ALL politicians and think that people who just adore any politician is a complete moron and a loser...
Everyone should just go to church, look after your family and just hope for the best.

Hillary Clinton is worthless, accept it anyone who disagrees!!
I hate Hillary because she has already won. There's not a Democrat or a Republican who's running who can stop her and Ross Perot is not interested. Beyond that, she knows she's won.
She's already got Sandy Berger working for her, she's taken $850,000 in illegal campaign contributions, and she's been caught listening to recordings of political opponents talking about her on their cell phones.
Why do we need primaries, conventions and elections anyway? It's a done deal! Get over it!
Lies, lies, lies. She wasn't "caught", she was accused by someone who has been known to make up stories.
I am researching why people love/hate Hillary to help me in determining who I will cast my caucus vote for in January here in Iowa.
From reading this blog the reason given for loving/hating her are that she's:
Intelligent
Successful
Ambitious
Stands her ground
Listens to & compromises with fellow senators on both sides on the aisle
Passionate about helping improve health care for children and adults
She knows how to play the game of politics and win
Stands by her cheating spouse
Sounds like the people who hate her are afraid of a successful woman. I have a feeling that if these were qualities describing a man that they'd support this person.

Hillary Clinton has no track record to run this country. She has never been employed as a manager of a small city let alone a country. She has under-performed as a Senator. She is a poor choice for the Democrats. If she is nominated, the democrats will lose the election, and they will go ballistic. Her Zogby poll negative rating is over fifty percent, no one has ever been elected with a negative rating this high.
There's not a Republican candidate in the field who can beat Hillary at the polls. Therefore, as the Democratic candidate, she cannot hurt the party.
"It's time to see a woman in the White House."
Hillary did not say this, but I know people who have. That kind of ignorant language really made me, unfairly, dislike Hillary. I've gotten past that issue, and realize how ridiculous it was. Now I choose to dislike her for other, more sensible reasons.
I do think that there are a lot of people who hate Hillary because they're frustrated. Frustrated in seeing others band behind her for the wrong reasons.
It would be great to have a female president, but don't elect her on chromosomes alone. That's sexist. And dont elect her on her last name alone. That's lastnameist.
No problem with a woman being elected. We in American have come a long way and only have an issue with blatantly manipulative types. Hillary Rodham Clinton is all that while running for the presidency as a strong woman, (please), yet maintaining a strong cling to her "husband's" coat-tails.
She ain't no Margarete Thatcher. Now, that's a strong candidate, male or female, that you want in office.

I disagree with you, but I want to compliment and thank you for posting an explanation instead of a rant.
Poor Hillary is the victim again. The guys in the debate are bullies. If she can stand up to John Edwards, how can she stand up to Vlad Putin?
Is that the same Putin that Bush looked into the soul of and fell in love?
You're the first person I've ever heard criticize Hillary because she's not tough enough.
I happened on this conversation via the comments to the current Doonesbury cartoon. I wanted to find out why a certain sort of American hates HRC. She doesn't seem any different to any other politician; her "scandals" do not seem greater than others. Yet, there's this immense foam-at-the-mouth hatred for her. Having read this thread, I am still none the wiser; a bit more bewildered and a little disappointed - for years I've been an Americanophile but less so with the advent of Bush - and my respect and admiration for the USA is diminished by the ant-HRC comments. Americans do not, it seems, live in a rational republic.
My own tuppence-worth is that the kernel of Hilary hatred starts with her as a woman, but isn't helped by the fact that she worked with the Watergate speicial prosecuters office. Karl Rove, for example, was a protégé of Donald Segretti, as well rumoured to be gay; he does seem particular misogynistic. Interestingly, Rove demonizes HRC every chance he gets, just to keep the pot boiling.
It seems to me that one of the background threads to American politics post-Reagan is the GOP's need for revenge. Tricky Dicky - that paragon of virtue - was criminally forced out of office. Ummm.
Those who have endured in historical terms under the heading of "greatness" all have had the trait of humility. If there's one trait that Hillary totally lacks, it's humility. She's arrogant to a fault.
I hate Hillary because she probably profited from illegally "parked" commodities trades and then lied about it, because she probably engaged in illegally pushing her Waterwater debts onto her friend's bank, because subpoened documents turned up under her bed, because she is married to a creep (which by the transitive property makes her a creep too), because she's always saying stupid things like vast right wing conspiracy, because she is the most shrill person I've ever heard and because she has cankles.
pardon the typo...Whitewater
How do the Clinton's get away with so much deceit. It is not the Clinton's that bother me as much as the American public that is soooo seduced by those two. Have we really become an American Idol mentality? I want a leader, not a clever, manipulating brand.
