Jay Nixon - As Arrogant and Corrupt as a Republican

Jay Nixon is one of my least favorite Democrats. I will give him credit for hiring some great people and running a highly competent AG's office (wouldn't it be nice if Republicans were at least competent, Brownie?), but he is a political hack of the most annoying kind - addicted to ink and unable to understand why anybody would question his motives.

The Republicans are jumping on him right now because he is taking money from Ameren (funneled through political clubs) while he is negotiating with them for criminal charges or civil fines arising out of the horrific Taum Sauk flood that ruined one of my favoritie spots in Missouri and nearly killed a family.

Missouri Republicans are adept at graft and corruption - indeed, the Blunt family would make Huey Long blush - so they know what they're talking about.

The Missouri Republicans are absolutely right about this. Jay Nixon stinks like a ripened skunk on a July highway on this, and, if he had an ounce of sense instead of a pound of arrogance, he would recuse himself and his office from further involvement with the Taum Sauk negotiations in favor of a special prosecutor.

(Please, please, please don't let Nixon be the Democratic nominee for governor , , ,)

Well put, Dan. For the very same reasons you don't want Nixon to run, those of us on the conservative side hope he does. On the other hand, I would hope that we can do better than what we have now. I'm sure not sitting here proud and happy about what is happening in Jeff City.

Is there something about Jay's last name? Hmmm.

He has already declared he is in the race. Check out Nixon for Governor.com.
While I'm not a fan of big business, that's the way the system works. Political candidates take money from people all the time. If someone like an Attny. Gen refused cash from anyone who came in contact with his office, he would probably end up with $5 in his campaign chest. Meanwhile Baby Blunt is taking cash from all kinds of business buddies, and has enough that he's already running ads!
In JC, people like Nixon and the idea of another Democratic governor.

"In JC, people like Nixon . . . .."

That's what happens when you allow inbreeding.

In JC, people accept corruption as par for the course. That doesn't make it right and none of us should sit back and accept it as "the way the system works."

Things can be different if those of us with brains and backbones do something about it.

In my opinion Jay Nixon is exactly what the State of Missouri needs in a Governor. Jay has a quote, "(Blunt and his administration) don't know the difference between politics and government." Jay knows the difference, he has been successfull as AG for over 13 years now. Jay knows when it is time to get things done for the good of the people in Missouri and not his buddies feeding him money or his brother's business (Andy Blunt reference). Jay aknowledged the money should be returned to the Democratic parties, not Ameren by the way, and that is exactly what he did. My hat is off to Missouri's next Governor... Jeremiah (Jay) W. Nixon.

In my opinion, Jay Nixon is exactly what the citizens of Missouri need in a Governor. He has a saying that Blunt and his administration do not know the difference between politics and government. Jay knows the difference, look at his record for over 13 years in the AG's office. He just gets things done and for the benefit of Missourians, not special interests.

I am amazed that people actually support Nixon for Governor when he has done so many things that is bad for Missouri, just to make himself look good. He has sued legitimate companies in Missouri and allowed companies outside of Missouri, doing the same business to continue doing business to Missouri residents. He claimed he did it because the Missouri company was an easy target for him. He is actually suing the state (isn't he supposed to protect us) in the Boonville Bridge issue. That thing is costing us a ton of money each year and taking away from other things. I love the KT trail, can't we spend millions on better things that keeping an a bridge that no one uses and the Coast Guard wants removed? But it is obvious he is not concerned with saving the state money or he would stop flying around in the State's planes and travel like the rest of us.

Nixon is bad for Missouri. Do your research people.

It seems Nixon does not want to prosecute BAD cops. I guess he is worried about the police vote if he does. Take a look at his record at: http://www.dennisheberlie.com/

I am not anti police I am anti bad cop. Take a look at: http://www.badcopnews.com/missouri/

Boy Runt, the current Governor, does not even live in Jefferson City. He resides in Springfield. So speaking of using the State Airplane who is using it more? I think every time Boy Runt wants to come to Jeff City he used the state airplane. So what's wrong with Jay Nixon using it too?

Jay Nixon represents fear. He will not admit when he has made a mistake and does a lot of off the wall things. He up-holds a severely flawed, barbaric death penalty that is corrupt and clearly insensitive to executing an innocent man. When all of the facts come out regarding some of the current death penalty cases in this state, I have no doubt that this cruede inhumane act will be abolished. When I think of Jay Nixon, I think of death and corruption.
